What this measures
Go/No-Go is a classic motor inhibition task. The brain must release a prepared tap on go trials and cancel that same tap on no-go trials. Commission errors (tapping red) track impulsivity. Omission errors (missing green) track lapses. Clinics use cousins of this task in ADHD batteries because the error mix is more informative than speed alone. We keep the timing tight so you cannot talk yourself through each trial. Short runs sample the skill. Long runs show whether the hold stays clean as fatigue arrives.
Where this shows up in real life
Holding a prepared action and cancelling it is the same skill as not sending a draft, not crossing on a late light, and not tapping a notification mid-sentence.

How to improve
- Sit your finger just off the button so a twitch does not fire a red tap.
- Watch the colour, not the countdown in your head.
- After a miss, reset. Chasing the last error usually creates the next one.
- Sleep and caffeine change this score. Retest at the same time of day.

What is a good Go/No-Go score?
Mid-80s percent is typical. The interesting part is the error type. Many red taps with few missed greens points at a fast, leaky trigger. The reverse points at caution or drift.
Is this an ADHD test?
It is one of the computer tasks used alongside ADHD screens. It is not a diagnosis. Pair it with the ADHD questionnaire if you want both self-report and a timed measure.
Why does Long feel harder?
Inhibition fatigues. A two-minute stream exposes late lapses that a thirty-second burst hides.
